Frequently asked questions

  • At Denver Waxing, we are committed to providing an unparalleled experience that goes counter to the trend of quick 15-minute appointments. We feel this allows us to not only provide a better result, but to also create a less rushed, more relaxing, and fully supportive experience. Our goal is to give you the time you need to answer questions, discuss products, and understand how to care for your skin!

  • Depending on your skin type and coarse of hair, some people initially find a level of discomfort that subsides over a period of regular waxing. If you have a low pain tolerance, you can take an ibuprofen half hour prior to your appointment.

  • You should not wax if you are taking antibiotics, Accutane, Differin, Retin A or any other medications that list “sun-sensitivity” as a symptom. You should also not wax if you have had a medical-grade facial or peel within a week of your appointment.

  • Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch long before waxing to ensure all the different lengths of growth are captured. If you are a first timer, we recommend you allow up to 3 weeks to allow all hairs grow above the surface of your skin.

  • We strongly suggest not shaving or trimming between visits but we understand that sometimes it’s hard to get to the salon. If possible we suggest making your waxing appointments closer together if you do have the urge to trim or shave in between visits. Sticking with regular waxing treatments will ensure that the hair grows in thinner each time.

  • A Brazilian wax typically takes about 30 minutes for women and 45 minutes for men. Each wax we take our time to ensure that no hair is left behind. Whether you need to come in on your lunch break or quickly after work, we will make sure you’re in and out in 30 minutes. Check out our full services menu for times and prices.

  • It really depends on the person, we typically recommend every three weeks but some people can go longer. If you are just getting started with waxing we recommend trying four weeks.

  • We use Cirépil hard and soft wax. The hard wax is meant to be less painful and using both types of wax ensure that we don’t leave any hair behind.
